7. Your lab report should contain (in this order): 1. Lab titles, date of experiment, and lab partners 2. Purpose of Lab 3. Paragraph explaining theory or background for the experiment 4. List of materials used 5. Procedure: write up a summary of the original procedure in paragraph form in your own words 6. Data: original measurements and charts 7. Analysis: calculations and graphs needed to reach a conclusion 8. Conclusion: What did you learn? Did you fulfill the purpose of the lab? Don’t tell me what you did in the lab!!! 9. See me for a prototype of what an exceptional lab notebook looks like. Formal Lab Report Guidelines The formal lab report should contain: 1. A cover page with your name, date the experiment was performed, and lab partners 2. All the same pieces of the report as in the lab notebook, but with more elaborate wording, as well as a more expansive background and conclusion. 3. The entire report should be typed and double-spaced, no larger than 12 pt. fonts. No ridiculous fonts, please! 4. For a prototype of an exceptional formal lab, please see me. |
